Joining other industry experts in speaking at the 2018 Techno Security & Digital Forensics Conference in Myrtle Beach will be Archetype SC’s Steven Kent and Patrick Nord.
Kent, a Senior Security Engineer, and Nord, a Data Scientist, will present “The Trouble with Cloud Forensics,” a look at technical and physical issues in the current state and future of cloud forensics.
“This is an exciting opportunity for some of our folks to get out and share their expertise within the security space,” said Usman Khan, Archetype SC’s security practice director. “Steven and Patrick are combining their incredible knowledge, with Steven as a forensics expert and Patrick having years of cloud experience. Together, they have developed an engaging talk that highlights some of the issues within cloud forensics, and things that may come about in the next three-to-five years.”
Their talk, “The Trouble with Cloud Forensics,” includes information on the role of a cloud service provider within an investigation, how critical the chain of custody can be for evidence integrity, and how the development of tools specifically for cloud forensics can create an overall improved experience for investigators.
This year’s conference features more than 100 educational sessions, 90 speakers, and 55 exhibitors/sponsors to show off the latest advances in digital forensics. The 2018 Techno Security & Digital Forensics Conference is the 20th edition of the conference in Myrtle Beach, with other locations in San Antonio, TX and, starting in 2019, San Diego, California. The conference aims to raise international awareness of developments, teaching, responsibilities, and ethics in the field of IT security and digital forensics.
The 2018 Techno Security & Digital Forensics Conference will take place from June 3-6 at the Marriott Resort at Grande Dunes. Archetype SC’s presentation will take place on June 5 from 9:30-10:20 a.m.
