Taking on Tampa and the Florida Airports Council's 49th Annual Conference & Exposition will be Archetype SC's Patrick Nord and Paul Cormier.

The duo will bring Archetype SC's A2 Analytics technology to the conference, showcasing the groundbreaking technology to airport representatives, businesses, and conference attendees.

A2 Analytics is a technology that puts data and insights into the hands of airports, airlines, and businesses, helping to transform the customer experience. A combination of easy-to-install sensors with a scalable cloud infrastructure powered by unique algorithms, A2 Analytics has been successfully implemented at the Myrtle Beach International Airport to monitor TSA wait times. In addition to monitoring wait times, A2 Analytics can be used to track movement through an area, usage of restroom facilities for janitorial services, and optimization of concessions through route mapping.

A2 Analytics will be used throughout the Florida Airports Council's 49th Annual Conference & Exposition to monitor the movement of attendees. Data from the conference will be on display at Archetype SC's booth, #77, to show where attendees spent their time during the conference. In addition to conference data, Archetype SC's representatives will be on hand to discuss how A2 Analytics can help solve issues facing many businesses, from monitoring the dwell, flow, and purchase patterns of anonymized individuals to understanding event impact, traffic flow, and recreation usage in a given space.

The Florida Airports Council's 49th Annual Conference & Exposition is hosted by the Tampa International Airport and St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport and will take place from July 15-18. For more information, visit the FAC's website.

The Carolina Country Music Festival attracts thousands of visitors and some of the genre's biggest stars to Myrtle Beach each year. This year TJ Lundeen, Archetype SC's marketing writer, will be among those taking in the three-day festival, thanks to the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce.

"I'm thrilled to be able to attend CCMF this weekend," Lundeen said. "For the past few years, I've heard about the show and have seen its impact on the area. This year, rather than watching Instagram or Snapchat stories, I'll be in attendance to see some excellent music, practically in my backyard."

Lundeen was one of the lucky few members of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce ambassador program to win a pair of tickets to the weekend of music. This year, Toby Keith, Luke Bryan, and Zac Brown Band are headlining the festival, with a number of acts taking the stage before the megastars.

"I'm really excited to see Zac Brown Band on Sunday," Lundeen said. "They have been one of my favorite groups for the past 8-10 years, but I've never been able to catch one of their live shows. I know they put on quite a show and I can't wait to see it."

The Carolina Country Music Festival has been called a “marquee event for the Myrtle Beach area," by former Chamber CEO Brad Deen. The 2017 event brought more than 30,000 people to the area and an economic impact of more than $25 million to the Grand Strand.

Steven Kent and Patrick Nord took to the presentation floor on Tuesday, June 5, at the 2018 Techno Security & Digital Forensics Conference in Myrtle Beach.

The pair held a 50-minute session titled "The Trouble With Cloud Forensics," offering a look at the struggles of digital investigators in the cloud.

"There are incredible challenges with what we do as digital forensics experts and investigators," Kent said during the presentation. "We know that time isn't on our side, but when we get bogged down in the regulations of different states or countries or maybe we're using outdated and non-functioning tools which can lead to our investigations becoming compromised."

Speaking to a room of 35-40 experienced security experts, Kent and Nord found a captive audience who face frustrating struggles in their daily forensic efforts.

"We had some great questions following our presentation from the audience," Nord said. "From how to work with your CSP on data governance to what tools would help ease pain points for investigators, we were able to have some valuable conversations."

In addition to speaking on Tuesday, the pair were able to attend other sessions and network with attendees at the 2018 Techno Security & Digital Forensics Conference.

"This conference attracts some of the sharpest minds in the forensics and digital security world, so to have had the opportunity to speak and facilitate some thought and conversation was a pleasure," Kent said. "Walking through the exhibit hall and learning about new technologies was another great experience."

The next Techno Security & Digital Forensics Conference will take place from September 17-19 in San Antonio, Texas.

Joining other industry experts in speaking at the 2018 Techno Security & Digital Forensics Conference in Myrtle Beach will be Archetype SC's Steven Kent and Patrick Nord.

Kent, a Senior Security Engineer, and Nord, a Data Scientist, will present "The Trouble with Cloud Forensics," a look at technical and physical issues in the current state and future of cloud forensics.

"This is an exciting opportunity for some of our folks to get out and share their expertise within the security space," said Usman Khan, Archetype SC's security practice director. "Steven and Patrick are combining their incredible knowledge, with Steven as a forensics expert and Patrick having years of cloud experience. Together, they have developed an engaging talk that highlights some of the issues within cloud forensics, and things that may come about in the next three-to-five years."

Their talk, "The Trouble with Cloud Forensics," includes information on the role of a cloud service provider within an investigation, how critical the chain of custody can be for evidence integrity, and how the development of tools specifically for cloud forensics can create an overall improved experience for investigators.

This year's conference features more than 100 educational sessions, 90 speakers, and 55 exhibitors/sponsors to show off the latest advances in digital forensics. The 2018 Techno Security & Digital Forensics Conference is the 20th edition of the conference in Myrtle Beach, with other locations in San Antonio, TX and, starting in 2019, San Diego, California. The conference aims to raise international awareness of developments, teaching, responsibilities, and ethics in the field of IT security and digital forensics.

The 2018 Techno Security & Digital Forensics Conference will take place from June 3-6 at the Marriott Resort at Grande Dunes. Archetype SC's presentation will take place on June 5 from 9:30-10:20 a.m.

Archetype SC President Joseph Bonanno has accepted an invitation to assist in grading portfolios and projects for graduating seniors of the Visual Arts Department at Coastal Carolina University. On April 26, Bonanno will serve as the lone non-faculty judge on a panel of Coastal Carolina graphic design professors to score the work of the students pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design.

"We are excited to have Joseph Bonanno as our outside expert for Coastal Carolina University’s senior graphic design portfolio review," said Jeff Case, Associate Professor of Design & Technology at Coastal Carolina University. "The work Joseph will be reviewing is a culmination of four years of study by our graphic design students, in which they prepare a professional portfolio to seek employment after they have completed their studies at CCU."

The portfolios created by the students are part of the Graphic Design Senior Capstone course required for graduation with a degree in graphic design. Coursework includes tackling advanced problems in graphic design for print and web. The portfolio created by students should be "versatile, well-rounded and high-quality" to help students land a career in design.

"It is an honor to be asked to work with the faculty at CCU to judge the work of their graduating seniors," Bonanno said. "I'm excited to see what the next generation of graphic designers can bring to the table and to see what they have been able to create over the past few years. If it is anything like my time in college, I know there was a lot of tireless effort, hard work, and stress involved in creating these portfolios."

In addition to grading the portfolios of graduating seniors, Bonanno will serve as a special judge for the Best in Show award in the graphic design exhibition from the senior capstone course, which will be on display in the Rebecca Randall Bryan Art Gallery. The Rebecca Randall Bryan Art Gallery is the main exhibition area for the Department of Visual Arts at Coastal, hosting works like "But if the Crime Is Beautiful" by Lauren Kalman, "Reflections" by Claudia Wilburn, and "Bread and Circus" by Diana Farfan, during its time on campus.
